Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers are an injectable treatment used for treating lines and wrinkles on the face and adding volume to the cheeks and lips. At Face Renew we use the Juvederm range fillers; an advanced Hyaluronic Acid based filler.

Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring sugar within the human body. Often referred to as ‘Natures Moisturiser’ it binds with water and gives the skin its youthful plumpness. As we age our levels of Hyaluronic Acid decline causing loss of volume and lines and wrinkles to appear.

• There are four different formulations of Juvederm Ultra depending on which area of the face is to be treated and the depth of the lines. There is a seperate filler for the lips.

• Juvaderm does contain a local anaesthetic (numbing agent) but a topical anaesthetic can be applied prior to the treatment for maximum comfort.

• No allergy test is required, however Juvaderm is not suitable for anyone with a known allergy to Hyaluronic Acid or Lidocaine.

• Juvaderm Ultra is a temporary filler treatment. Hyaluronic Acid is completely broken down by the body and vanishes over a period of months. Effects can last 12-18 months depending on the filler used and the area treated.

Average treatment time is approximately 1 hour and includes a full medical history check.
